We strive to make sure that our service department is accessible and accommodating while maintaining a high standard of excellence to insure proper repair and your safety with factory-trained technicians and certified parts.

  • Transmission
  • Brakes
  • Tires
  • Suspension
  • Battery
  • Steering
  • Lights
  • Mirrors
  • Radiator and cooling system
  • Body and frame
  • Leaks, damage, or wear and tear

BRAKES

Your brakes are the most important safety feature of your vehicle. Worn or glazed brake pads and warped discs can have a dramatic effect on how quickly you stop…..or don’t. Even modern safety electronics, like pre-collision brake assist and ABS, can not defeat physics. If your brakes squeak, squeal, or make a grinding noise when you step on the brakes, then it’s time to schedule a service with us. When you brake, do you feel the steering wheel vibrate in your hands? That usually means your rotors are warped and need resurfacing or replacing. When your vehicle needs to brake, it’s critical that it does every time. It is essential to have your vehicle’s brakes checked from the pads to rotors, to the pedals. Count on us to perform and ensure that your car, truck, or SUV stops every time with confidence!

ENGINE

Our service department has all of the tools necessary to diagnose an engine issue and provide solutions for engine repair or replacement. We use the latest equipment provided by Mopar to target issues and fix them quickly and in. the most cost-effective way possible.

ENGINE OIL

Like the old Fram oil filter commercial tag said, “you can pay a little now, or a lot later.” Following the manufactures guidance on oil changes may seem overkill. However, regularly scheduled oil and oil filter changes, along with changing your air filter every 15,000-20,000 miles, are the difference between your engine lasting 70,000 miles, and 700,000 miles. And as the old adage states, you will get out of it, what you put into it. OEM recommended fluid and parts may cost a little more up front, but will more than pay for themselves over the long term. We are just as happy to see customers who have owned their vehicles for 10, 15, 20 years or longer with hundreds of thousands of miles on them, as we are with customers buying something new.

TRANSMISSION

Yes, you can also have your transmission inspected and diagnosed at Rairdon’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM of Marysville. A modern transmission is an engineering marvel. While the modern automatic transmission can trace its roots to the late 1940s, they are orders of magnitude more complex today. Regular maintenance of your transmission will save you many thousands of dollars in repair or replacement costs down the line. Should you encounter any transmission issues, trust Rairdon’s Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM of Marysville to find an economical, convenient solution for you that will bring your vehicle back up to tip-top shape for you to get back on the road.

BATTERY AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

Today’s vehicles are more complicated than ever, equipped with new electronics and technology. We perform car battery checks and replacements when your battery is nearing the end of its life.

Your standard lead acid battery will naturally drain even sitting on a shelf. If you are actively using your battery, there are other things that could cause a drain that you may not have considered:

  • Leaving your car key in your car overnight or even on a hook near the car is not recommended because it can continue to communicate with it, which could drain the battery.
  • Parasitic battery drain is something that constantly drains your battery. This could be a headlight/dome-light switch, alternator, or any other electrical gremlins that were accidentally left on.
  • Even while your car is off, your battery provides power to things like the clock and the alarm system, although these things shouldn’t have a major impact on your battery. Newer vehicles may also run network communication to the manufacturer servers via the TCU (Telematics control unit) to receive over the air updates that are sent out on a regular basis. The ability to remotely turn on lights, heater etc, sent from your phone via an app, can also go through this network.
  • A battery can lose as much as 35% in performance when temperatures hit freezing, and up to 50% if temperatures sink below that.

Diagnostics on your electrical system, including the drive system for your electrified vehicle (EV) are quickly checked out in our service lane. If the issue is not your battery, we can quickly find out if it is an alternator or spark plug that is the culprit in the issues you are seeing. Even if you are not experiencing issues with your battery, out diagnostics can tell you how much life remains in your battery and give you an idea of when you may need to consider replacing it.

FILTERS

OIL FILTERS: Motor oil accumulates grit and grime while circulating through an engine, and oil filters remove this dirt to ensure an engine receives the lubrication it needs. Even if you put in clean oil, if the filter is dirty, you are running grime through your engine and building up engine sludge in your systems. This makes it so important that you regularly replace the oil filter to keep your engine running in the very best condition.

AIR FILTERS: Dirty or damaged air filters reduce the air flow to the engine, changing your car’s air-fuel balance. This means a dirty air filter negatively impacts your fuel efficiently and causes you to pay more money at the pump. When you replace your air filters regularly, it will keep your system running more efficiently.

CABIN FILTERS: Because the cabin air filter is basically all that stands between the exterior air of the road and interior air of your car, it is imperative to your health and the health of your passengers to regularly change this filter. The cabin air filter blocks the smog and dirty exhaust let out by other vehicles on the road so that you can breathe easier and avoid costly medical bills and illness. The cabin air filter also makes your ride more enjoyable, blocking fumes and unpleasant smells that you might encounter in your drive.

OIL CHANGES AND OTHER PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

We’ve already mentioned the importance of regularly getting your oil and oil filters changed. Your vehicle should be maintained at specific intervals based on your recommended maintenance schedule. This service includes oil changes, filters, belts, hoses, wipers and all of your vehicle’s fluids. These services are recommended to prolong the life of your vehicle and keep you and your passengers safely traveling on, and sometimes off, the road. We offer a dedicated express lane to make sure your regularly scheduled maintenance is easy, quick and affordable.

BELTS AND HOSES

Driving on an old, worn belt is a disaster waiting to happen. A serpentine belt is located under the hood of a car, and it “snakes” its way between various pulleys and accessories controlling and driving all of these items to keep your car running smoothly. That means when your belt breaks, slips and, ultimately, wears out, everything—from the power steering pump to the alternator and air conditioner—stops working. This can cause catastrophic damage to so many things in your vehicle. A timing belt links your car engine’s crankshaft to its camshaft. The crankshaft rotates the engine’s pistons, while the camshaft opens and closes engine valves. The timing belt should not be ignored; if the timing belt wears down and malfunctions, it may result in a costly, time-intensive engine rebuild or even a replacement.

There are many signs that your car’s serpentine belt may need to be replaced, including:

  • Squealing noise from the front of your car
  • Power steering stops working
  • Air conditioning stops working
  • Engine overheats
  • Cracking on the belt

There are common signs of a failing timing belt that you can also look for, including:

  • Ticking noise comes from the engine
  • Engine will not ignite
  • Engine frequently misfires
  • Oil leaks from the front of the motor

Hoses are just as essential to your vehicle as belts. If hoses are neglected, a series of problems may arise with the cooling and heating systems of the car, which can lead to breakdown or failure of the engine. Most radiator hoses when they are old or hardened will begin to slowly leak coolant, particularly around the ends. Coolant loss will cause the engine to run hot and affect efficiency. If lost coolant is not replaced, the car will overheat to the point where the plastic parts start to melt and friction between moving metal parts negates any oil lubrication. The engine will seize resulting in total engine failure and a very expensive repair.

TIRES

This is where the rubber really meets the road! We can get you the right tires at competitive prices. You can count on the exact tire size required for your vehicle.

TIRE ALIGNMENT

Tire alignment, also known as wheel alignment, can help your tires perform properly and help them last longer. It can also improve handling and keep your vehicle from pulling in one direction or vibrating strangely on the road. Tire alignment can also affect fuel efficiency and wear on other components of your car, truck, or SUV.

BALANCING YOUR TIRES

When all areas of the wheel-tire assembly are as equal in weight as possible, the tire will roll smoothly. This helps improve tread wear. Balancing also contributes to overall ride comfort. Imbalanced tires can wobble or hop up and down, causing vibration.

ROTATING YOUR TIRES

Even if your car is properly aligned, tires still need to be rotated for optimal wear performance and maintenance. Rotation counteracts the uneven wear characteristics of each wheel position on the vehicle.

In addition to ride comfort, fuel efficiency, and tire life longevity, keeping your tires properly maintained is a questi0n of safety for you and your passengers.
