The 2017 Ram Rebel Mojave Sand is a special edition pickup truck. There are only 1,500 units available for sale, but you can add the package to any Ram 1500 that has a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or a 5.7-liter HEMI V8. Here are some details about the 2017 Ram Rebel Mojave Sand.

The Look

The Mojave Sand gets its name from the exterior color. This one-of-a-kind paint job comes in two different combinations so you can choose between a solid Mojave Sand or a two-tone black and Mojave sand combination. The hood of this special edition truck features a sporty matte-black stripe to distinguish it from other trucks and to contrast with the subtle sand color. Inside you’ll find an interior that is completely black from top to bottom, a first for Ram. Ram enhances the bucket seats with slate gray stitching, black embroidery, and a tire tread pattern.

The Details

To compliment the custom seats, Ram added black anodized bezels on the door, the instrument panel, the center console, and gauge cluster on the dash. The rubber floor mats feature the Ram logo embossed in gray.

Under the Hood

When you add the Mojave Sand package to the 1500 Rebel, you can also take advantage of this model’s exceptional engine choices. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that delivers 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic, and it comes in rear-wheel drive with the option for four-wheel drive. A more powerful 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine is an available option with the Rebel. This produces 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.

Performance

While the Mojave Sand looks great, it also performs. When equipped with the V6, it can tow up to 7,610 pounds; choose the V8, and it will pull up to 10,640 pounds. If you need to haul loads in the truck bed, it can handle up to 1,890 pounds with the V6 and 1,800 pounds if it has the V8.

The Safety

The safety features are the same whether you add the Mojave Sand package or not. The 1500 Rebel comes with anti-lock disc brakes, hill start assist, and trailer-sway control. There are front-seat side air bags, along with side curtain air bags for both the front and the rear seat. Optional safety features include a rearview camera, parking sensors, and an integrated trailer-brake controller.

Technology

Drivers can choose between two different Uconnect systems in the Rebel Mojave Sand. The first comes with a 5-inch display screen, and the second is an upgraded 8.4-inch screen with virtual buttons. You’ll also get convenience features such as remote start, keyless entry, and Bluetooth connectivity with voice controls. You can even add a Wi-Fi hotspot and smartphone integration.
