Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger EV Concepts
As you may already know, Stellantis—the parent company of Chrysler, Dodge, and many other automakers—has decided to discontinue the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger in the upcoming months. While we are certainly sad to see them go, we were relieved to learn that they are not necessarily gone forever. While the gasoline versions will be retired, according to dealer sources, Stellantis is set to create electric successors which will eventually replace them. Although it is not quite clear yet whether or not both of them will share a name with their predecessors, the electric vehicles (EVs) should serve as excellent substitutes for the historic Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger models. As always, we have everything you need to know, so keep on reading below to learn more about the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger EV concepts!

Everything We Know So Far About the New EV Concepts
According to said sources, Stellantis recently held a private event in Las Vegas to which only dealers were invited. Supposedly, Stellantis showed dealers three new vehicles, one of which was a Chrysler-branded electric sedan. What’s more, it reportedly had a fastback design, just like the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept. This makes sense, of course, as the outgoing Charger and 300 are closely related to another one. As a matter of fact, they were even built on the same platform! Take all of this with a grain of salt, however, as there was no photographic evidence available at press time.
The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept, on the other hand, has been very well-documented since its introduction in August 2022. As a matter of fact, it recently stole the show at the 2023 New York International Auto Show! Not only did it live up to the hype, but it also dropped jaws among hundreds of other vehicles at the Jacob K Javits Center in Manhattan; needless to say, that is no small accomplishment. Furthermore, the exterior of the vehicle is heavily inspired by, if not nearly identical to, the iconic 1969 Charger R/T. Of course, beauty on the outside is just the beginning of this incredible EV.
Dodge Charger Daytona SRT EV Engine Packages
Under the enticing exterior of the Charger Daytona SRT, one will find an equally captivating power plant. Unlike the typical 400-volt systems that are found in most EVs, this amazing muscle car is home to an electrical system that generates 800 volts! This, however, is just the beginning, as there are three engine-related packages for this vehicle. First, the base-spec 340 package can produce at least 455 horsepower; then, the mid-range 440 edition raises the bar with 590 horsepower; lastly, the third available engine package can reach at least 670 horsepower! While it is not quite confirmed yet, there has also been a proposed version equipped with a Stellantis Hurricane I6 engine. If this would ever hit the market, this ultimate version of the Charger Daytona SRT could surpass 1,000 horsepower! Suffice it to say, this is a bona fide muscle car, plain and simple.
When to Expect the Charger Daytona SRT EV
As for when to expect it, the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT EV is slated to begin production in early 2024, enter the market by the end of the year, and be sold as a 2025 model.
