Which Dodge Durango Trim Level Is Right for You?
Buying a car can be stressful. With such a significant investment, you deserve to get exactly what you want. Your new car needs to fit your family’s lifestyle. Consider carefully what features you need. Is there enough seating? Enough cargo space? Does it have the tech and safety elements that you’re looking for?
The 2017 Dodge Durango, one of the best mid-sized SUVs out there, has all the features to meet any family’s needs and comes in multiple trim levels, so you should be able to find one that meets all your requirements.
SXT
The base trim level of the 2017 Durango, the SXT, contains a generous number of features for a base trim level. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine peaks at 295 horsepower and is capable of towing up to 6,200 pounds. In total, the SXT has 84.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded down, plenty of room whether you’re making a trip to the store or going on vacation.
The SXT also comes standard with a five-inch touch screen with an infotainment system. With three-zone automatic temperature control, everyone in your vehicle is bound to stay comfortable. Bluetooth connectivity, leather-trimmed steering wheel, steering wheel controls, and a customizable digital cluster display make for a fun driving experience. The SXT has a starting MSRP of $29,995.
GT
Upgrading to the GT brings a host of additional features. For a starting MSRP of $37,495, you get all-season tires, leather seating with a heated front and second row, and a complete third row of seating, roomy enough for adults to ride comfortably. The GT also adds remote start capability and a memory system that allows you to save your settings for seat, steering wheel, and mirror positions for two different drivers. Want to entertain the kids on those long trips? The GT comes with a backseat Blu-Ray and DVD entertainment system.
Citadel
The luxurious, top-of-the-line Citadel, with a starting MSRP of $41,395, takes everything that makes the GT great and adds upgraded leather, ventilated front seats, and a sunroof. The Citadel trim level also features an unbeatable premium sound system including nine speakers and a subwoofer. And you’ll never get lost again with the Citadel’s standard navigation system.
R/T
The R/T trim level is perfect for drivers looking for a sportier driving experience. For a starting MSRP of $42,095, you get an upgraded 5.7L Hemi V8 engine capable of reaching 360 horsepower and towing up to 7,400 pounds. With the R/T, you’ll also get a sport-tuned suspension, performance steering, and a BeatsAudio premium sound system.
Which Dodge Durango trim level sounds right to you? If you’re looking for a cheaper but still decked-out vehicle, stick with the basic SXT trim level. Looking for something a little more luxurious? Upgrade to the GT or Citadel levels. Not necessarily looking for a family vehicle, but a powerful, sporty SUV instead? Go for the R/T trim level. Whatever you choose, you’ll be happy with your 2017 Dodge Durango.
