Where to Go Before and After a Sounders Game
Whether you’re looking for a good place to eat before the soccer match or you want a place to celebrate the victory, there are some great spots to head to in Seattle after a Sounders FC game. For good food, great drinks, and a fun time, check out one of these top places.
March to the Match
Enjoy one of the most exciting traditions in professional sports when you participate in the March to the Match. The pre-game march started in 2005 by Emerald City Supporters, and now it’s become a thrilling practice for all fans. The festivities begin around two hours before the match at Occidental Park. Here you’ll find performances from the Sounders FC official band, giveaways, contests, and a pre-game show hosted by Ken Carson. One hour before kickoff, join other fans in the march as they sing and chant to CenturyLink Field.
Altstadt
Altstadt is a unique pub that combines German food and hospitality with Pacific Northwest flair. If you’re looking for a good place to warm up after the match, this is the spot to go. The menu includes reinvented German classics, like sausages, brats, and pretzels, served with house-made mustard. If you’re looking for something to drink, the extensive beer menu has a unique selection of local and imported options.
The NINETY
Before the match, head to The NINETY to grab a beer, check out some of the latest merchandise, and learn more about the history of the team. While you’re here you can meet other fans, experience a match using virtual reality, take a picture with the MLS Cup trophy, and listen to special guests. From The NINETY, it’s just a short walk to CenturyLink Field to catch the match live.
The Atlantic Crossing Pub
The Atlantic Crossing Pub is the official bar to the Sounders FC. If you don’t have tickets to see the Sounders FC play live, you can still enjoy watching the game at the pub. The menu includes classic British pub food such as shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, and bangers and mash, yet you’ll also find some of your American favorites, like chicken wings, burgers, and flatbreads. If you need something refreshing to wash it all down, you’ll find one of the best selections of Irish whiskeys and premium well drinks.
Shawn O’Donnell’s American Grill and Irish Pub
Shawn O’Donnell’s American Grill and Irish Pub is a great place before, during, or after a match to cheer on the Sounders FC. The menu includes traditional Irish fare, such as corned beef and cabbage and Irish whiskey mac and cheese. You’ll also find gourmet burgers, sandwiches, salads, and the best pints that the Northwest and Ireland have to offer. If you still have room after your meal or you’re celebrating a great win, finish your evening at Shawn O’Donnell’s with Irish bread pudding or a premium craft root beer float.
From marching to the field before the match to savoring a great meal after, these are the top spots to go in Seattle when the Sounders FC are playing.
