Help Find a Cure for Childhood Cancer

When life gives you lemons…RUN!

On Friday, February 23, 2018, Sarah Hendrickson will be joining Team Lemon to help Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation raise money to find a cure for childhood cancer. Sarah will be running in a charity 5k at Walt Disney World in Florida called “When life gives you lemons…RUN!”

Sarah is currently raising money for this event at Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The money you donate will pay for research to find better treatments and cures for childhood cancer. Sarah’s minimum goal was met after Rairdon’s Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram of Marysville made a $500 donation to her cause. While her goal was met, the need is still great. Every additional dollar donated goes directly to funding vital research programs in the fight to find a cure for childhood cancer.

We encourage you to donate to Sarah’s cause. The more money we raise the more research we can fund.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand

It all started with one front yard lemonade stand.

Alexandra “Alex” Scott started her first childhood cancer fundraiser at the age of four and raised over $2000. Alex was diagnosed with neuroblastoma just before her first birthday. The day after her fourth birthday she received a stem cell transplant in order to help fight her growing tumors. She told her mother, “When I get out of the hospital I want to have a lemonade stand.” She wanted to give the money to doctors to allow them to “help other kids, like they helped me.” True to her word, she held her first lemonade stand later that year with the help of her older brother and raised an amazing $2,000 for “her hospital.”

Alex passed in 2004 at the age of eight. Through her brave battle with cancer her efforts were able to raise $1 million and inspired a legacy of hope and cures for childhood cancer.

Since 2005, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has funded over 800 research projects at more than 135 hospitals working towards putting an end to childhood cancer.
