New Double Snorkel Hood for Challenger Hellcat

2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat gets a Double Snorkel

Dodge has decided to tease us about the 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat. The modern Challenger has paid homage to the Challenger of the 60’s and 70’s and it looks like Dodge plans to continue the tradition into 2019. The Dodge Challenger is arguably the only American muscle car that truly represents its classic muscle car roots, with much of the aesthetic design flare reflecting heavily the design features that were popular for the era. While we didn’t get any specific running data on the 2019 Challenger Hellcat, Dodge did say this about a new hood design this morning in a rather unconventional press release.

“Dodge is again reaching back to its 100-plus-year history as it evolves the Challenger lineup for 2019, introducing a new dual-snorkel hood on Hellcat models that pays homage to the distinctive Mopar design themes from some of its most famous muscle cars. This new fully functional hood harkens back to the mid-60s and early-70s, but with a modern interpretation that looks even more sinister and provides maximum air intake to the supercharged powerplant. More information to come this summer … “ – FCA

The release was rather short and too the point, and wasn’t formatted in the formal manner leaving some to wonder if this was leaked by a press team member as a little teaser. The new double snorkel hood pays homage to the popular hood design of the 60s and 70s. This will definitely add some classic style to the modern monster that is the 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

The Demon was a one year production so we won’t be seeing them again, but we are all waiting and wondering whether some of that Demon technology is representative of concepts that will be employed on future Hellcats.
