What to Know About the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept

That is exactly the case with the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept that was recently unveiled by the automaker. As Dodge stated, the concept “drives like a Dodge, looks like a Dodge and feels like Dodge.” The big difference from what you might be used to is that the vehicle is completely battery-electric.

What Makes the Daytona SRT Concept Special

The Charger Daytona SRT concept isn’t just your typical electric vehicle though. Powered by the new 800V Banshee propulsion system, the vehicle features something called the eRupt transmission. Your typical electric vehicle lacks the experience of the jolt felt at each shift point found in gas-powered vehicles. The eRupt transmission mimics this feeling, using electro-mechanical shifting to give you that jolt that results in a thrilling driving experience.

Dodge takes things a step further by mimicking the sound of a gasoline-powered vehicle as well. The Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust addresses the silence of electric vehicles that some drivers find enjoyable and instead generates a performance sound through an amplifier in the rear.

Last but not least is the R-Wing. In addition to the aerodynamic benefits of such a feature, the R-Wing is also a nod to the iconic Dodge Daytona namesake and design language.
