Future Vehicles From Ram, Jeep and Dodge

When the pandemic hit in 2020, many projects were put on hold in numerous industries, including the automotive world. News about the latest technologies or newest vehicles seemed limited for a while, but now in 2023, things have picked back up again. 

Stellantis, which is the entity that oversees Ram, Jeep and Dodge, recently had its Dealer Business Meeting for this year. Usually, the info in these meetings is supposed to be top secret, but as always, some nuggets of valuable insider information have leaked out. This information includes details about future vehicles from our favorite domestic car brands, and the future certainly looks exciting.

What We Know About the Jeep Recon

Much of the buzz from the meeting came from the very first live look at a Jeep Recon up close. This is a new electric SUV model that Jeep has been working on for some time now.

In appearance, it looks similar to a Jeep Renegade, only just a bit bigger. Unfortunately, the Recon shown in the leaked photos was of the same color and variety as the one seen on Jeep’s actual website, which is an olive green sort of color. Still, it’s exciting to see it out and about prior to its expected arrival at dealerships in 2024.

In other Jeep news, rumor has it that the Wagoneer will be getting electrified next year as well, while a new Cherokee model will launch with both hybrid and electric powertrains. Last but not least, though we know little currently, it has also been said that the Gladiator pickup truck will receive a Willys trim next year as well.

Will the Dodge Charger Only Be Available With an Electric Powertrain?

It’s no longer news that Dodge has been working to develop electrified performance models, bringing electric power to its Charger and Challenger vehicles. It has even been thought that the Charger may no longer be available with a gasoline engine.

Though we can’t verify rumors one way or another, it is thought that the Dealer Business Meeting revealed that this is not the case. Though electric mobility won’t be taking a back seat, it has been said that we could see two inline-six combustion engines once this new generation of the Charger comes out.

What We Know About Ram’s New Midsize Pickup

Like its competitors, Ram is reportedly adding a midsize truck to its lineup. Leaked intel hasn’t gone much further than that, but this new pickup will supposedly appeal to those drivers who use their trucks less for work and more as a daily driver. Surely that versatility in utility and style could appeal to a lot of U.S. drivers.

Without knowing the accuracy, it can be difficult to get excited about rumors. But even if a small portion of this information turns out to be true in the coming months and years, it certainly paints a bright picture for the future of the Dodge, Ram and Jeep brands.
